Bhojan lila is a term that refers to the pastime of Sri Krishna and Srimati Radharani enjoying a meal together in one of the groves of Vrindavan. Bhojan means food or meal, and lila means divine play or sport. Bhojan lila is one of the many ways that the supreme lovers express their affection and intimacy for each other.

According to some sources, bhojan lila takes place near the Govardhana Hill, in the sacred lake of Radha Kunda, where there are many pavilions and gardens for the pleasure of the divine couple. There, surrounded by their friends and attendants, Sri Krishna and Srimati Radharani relish various dishes and sweets that have been prepared by the gopis, the cowherd girls of Vrindavan. They lovingly feed each other, exchange glances, and enjoy the music, the fragrance, and the beauty of the environment.

Bhojan lila is a manifestation of the eternal and blissful nature of the relationship between Sri Krishna and Srimati Radharani, who are the source of all love and joy. Bhojan lila is also a way of honoring the sacred food that has been offered to the Lord with devotion. By eating the remnants of the Lord’s meal, the devotees can also partake in the bhojan lila and experience the sweetness of divine love.
